Wake Forest University School of Medicine

History

In continuous operation and fully accreditited since 1974, the emergency medicine residency at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center (WFBMC) is the oldest EM residency program in the southeast and one of the founding programs in the country. Their are proud of their heritage but even more excited about their future.

Their are a university-based training program located in Winston-Salem, NC. WFBMC is an 830-bed tertiary care institution affiliated with the Wake Forest School of Medicine. Most all specialties are represented. Their emergency department, a level one adult & pediatric trauma center, has an annual volume of >100,000 patient visits and sees the entire spectrum of human illness.
