Perinephric abscess

Background

• Associated with DM and nephrolithiasis
• Also can occur due to bacteremia with hematogenous seeding (Staph)

Clinical Features

• Sign/symptoms similar to pyelo (fever, CVAT, dysuria)
• Occurs in setting of ascending infection w/ obstructed pyelo
