Background

  • 70% success at <5min loss vitals of mother
  • Continue CPR during C-section
  • Correct maternal acidosis

Indications

  1. Fundus higher than umbilicus or >23 weeks
  2. Fetal heart tones present
  3. Loss of maternal vital signs

Procedure

  1. Full BSI
  2. Large vertical abdominal incision down to uterus
  3. Vertial placental incision
  4. Delivery infant from mother
  5. Have NICU team with warmer standing by
