Formal US in the ED[1]

  • All studies should be performed in the ED unless the techs are simultaneously attempting to perform multiple ED studies.
  • 2 US techs are generally assigned to the ED at night, and ED studies are given priority over inpatient studies.

CT Scanner Specs

  • CT: Toshiba Aquilion Prime
  • Weight capacity: 660 lbs
  • Max diameter (CT 2): 78 cm (approximately 30 inches).

MRI Specs

  • Weight capacity: 350 lb
  • Max dimensions: 15 inches high, 21 inches wide
  • MRI lift capacity: 1000 lbs total for gurney, staff, equipment, etc.
