Diagnosis

• Diffuse tearing and increased intercanthal distance are suggestive
• Intranasal palpation w/ hemostat while palpating along bony rim for crepitus

Prognosis

• • Complications include:
    • Lacrimal disruption
    • Medial canthal ligament rupture
    • Dural tears
    • Intracranial injury seen in up to 70%
