	The Emergency Medicine residency program has maintained Continued Full Accreditation by the ACGME as well as the Resident Review Committee (RRC) since 1981. It was the first EM residency program and first acsdemic department of Emergency Medicine in Vi5.

	Their program proudly serves as a center of excellence in Emergency Medicine in the Commonwealth of Virginia providing leadership in clinical, academic and prehospital services. They are a not-for-profit physician group supporting EVMS with more than ~~150~~ physicians at ~~over 20~~ locations.
