Página nueva

==History==
The EM Residency Program through Allegheny Health Network-Erie is based out of the Saint Vincent Emergency Department, which is the busiest in the area, serving approximately 69,000 patients per year. The Emergency Department is a Telestroke Center partnered with Allegheny General Hospital and a Cardiac Facility with a Cath Lab available 24/7. Saint Vincent serves as a SANE facility (Sexual Assault Nurse Extender), with a private crisis treatment room and trained forensic nurses. We are also the region’s main psychiatric center and an official DMAT (Disaster Medical Assistance Team) for the Department of Homeland Security, to be deployed nationally in times of disaster.

The Emergency Department is covered by 21 full-time residency trained attending physicians who are AOBEM or ABEM certified or eligible. Emergency Medicine Residents also train and rotate in Saint Vincent’s Intensive Care Units, which are comprised of 40 beds, working side by side with the critical care intensivists. Out of hospital rotations include Pediatrics at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and Trauma at UPMC Presbyterian.
